Spearhead and Max (Funskool)

As Funskool figures go, Spearhead and Max don’t fare too badly. There’s no oddly recolored or replaced weapon/accessory complement, and Spearhead wasn’t given a garish uniform variation. I originally picked this figure up thinking that his helmet would make for a useable replacement for my missing Night Force version. Not quite. I was surprised however that I ended up liking

Carl “Doc” Greer (2014)

Hasbro’s Kre-O has become more than a bit of an obsession for me since its GI Joe figures made their debut last year. When Collection 1 hit, I hadn’t intended to pick up more than a few choice figures that had sparked my interest. Once I bought a few blind bags and the Checkpoint Alpha set however, I was hooked.

Serpentor (2008)

Included in the same DVD Battle Pack that also contained the oft-requested Sunbow version of Motezuma’s Skeleton, Serpentor is at least interesting. The third modern construction style version of Cobra’s Emperor, he bears somewhat more of a resemblance to his old self than the previous two versions. The result is a bit of recombinant plastic that doesn’t really pay total

ICYMI: Lady Jaye (2009)

I feel bad whenever I have to simply reblog something. Usually, it’s due to just running out of time in the day. (I do have a life, folks). Skyduster (2008)

What’s in a name? With the GI Joe brand since the Real American Hero era’s end, it seems at times a mire of copyright and/or trademark clearances. Mainstay characters like Hawk, Stalker and Scarlett have all been subject to moniker juggling. Heck, even lesser knowns like Starduster have had their code names go incognito and back again over the years.

Captivating Cover: Everglades Swamp Terror

Have the Joes ever fought in the actual Everglades before? I know there’s been swamp land in both cartoon and comic stories, but were they set in Florida? I don’t know, but the Water Mocassin seems the perfect Cobra ride for swamp-based misadventures. The only thing missing is Zartan. Maybe he’s in the boat. The painting is so small, it’s

Snake Eyes (2007)

Snake Eyes’ second figure design is one that seems to be high on collectors’ wish lists for remakes each time a new iteration of GI Joe toys appear. I can’t blame folks for wanting it, as the 1985 toy has been one of the most iconic looks for the brand’s most popular character. New portrayals, be they in comic book,
