  • Wish i could take photos that good.
Techno vipers have become really popular in the last few years; i wonder if theyre antics on the Terrordrome reviews have anything to do with it?

  • Nice photos! Looks like you had some fun setting them up. TechnoVipers are very 1987 with that sci-fi edge the line was taking on. But as seen in the picts, they fit in well with older figures and vehicles. They’re different (=purple) but it goes with their specialty.

  • More great stuff. I like the TV holding the Stinger missile. Excellent work!

  • Yeah, I thought the purple seemed well-suited. it was close to the dark blue that was so prevalent for Cobra (troopers, officers, vehicles, garden variety Vipers). And it seems like purple carved out a niche as a supporting color in Cobra (Techno, Toxo, Hydro, SAW, Heli Viper, Night Creeper, Night Vulture, the Mamba, Dice, and Dr. Mindbender). Of course, by 1987, purple was getting pretty well-established as one of the defining colors of the Decepticons, so it had a villain association. They also seemed as proficient in using their wrenches, claws, and other tools for repair as they can for combat.

Another interesting thing to note is how many 1987 figures had support roles and were often the only figure in the line in that role.
