Edwin “Lifeline” Steen (2010)

Until I started taking a deeper look at the Palitoy Action Force figures, it hadn’t occurred to me that this Lifeline was an homage. The Z-Force medic figure was outfitted in a similar fashion, with a white vest and white helmet over green fatigues.

The figure’s base hails from one of the great final assortments of the original Real American Hero o-ring era. 1994 Lifeline was a great figure, and featured the sort of modern military with a twist design that informed much of the early years of the period. He even had a small, easily lost microphone. Though the original 1994 figure wasn’t too brightly colored, and featured the common rescue red color, the green is a nice change of pace for Lifeline.

Being a convention figure, there’s a lot of small sculpted bits picked out on the sculpt. The stethoscope and scissors on the vest are great little intricate details that add more interest to an already very cool figure.

  • [sighs loudly] what could have been. If only the line lasted a few more years

I really like some of the last few ARAH figures. I hope to replace them one day

I heard this guy is quite sought after by the Action Force collectors. I wish Hasbro would throw those guys a few more bones.

  • I wonder why they made this version a brunette whereas the original had black hair.

  • I always liked the 1994 version of this mold but as a Brit brought up on Action Man and Action Force, I have a special fondness for this homage to our favourite Norwegian medic. I only wish the club had made a few more.

  • Should’ve been the Action Force character. The head sculpt always seemed to gruff looking for Lifeline. I agree, they could’ve done more with Action Force homages. As it was, they were the LAST vintage o-ring thing Hasbro/the collector’s club ever did. When you look at the oddities they did make (Imperial Procession, the 2002 8-pack), it’s a real shame.

  • This is a great mold for sure. I liked the ’94 original so much that I view him as an individual character other than Lifeline. Too bad this version had limited exposure due to being a con exclusive. It’s figures like this which really make me miss the vintage o-ring era!

  • Nice mold!

  • Great figure! Just opened my first 1994 Lifeline a few months ago and was really impressed with it. Glad to see it saw life again as a con exclusive.
