Cobra Invasion Trooper (2013)

What a compelling name. It really  conjures up images of Cobra…invading things. I don’t know what exactly he’s invading, but wherever it is, it’s going to be the reddest invasion ever. I kid about the coloring, but again, Cobra outdoes the GI Joe team in the style department. What we’ve got here is basically the Pursuit of Cobra Shock Trooper

Night Adder (2009)

While I didn’t care much for most of the Rise of Cobra movie based GI Joe and Cobra figure designs, the off-screen extras of non-movie figures had a share of very exciting new characters and troops. Night Adder showed up a little later in the movie run. A lot of those later wave toys were difficult for me to track

Eel (2009)

Toylines based on movie properties often end up with figures that either don’t resemble their on-screen counterpart, or that flat out don’t exist in the movie. Night Fox (2013)

I’ve become a Night Fox fan. Night Who? He’s a recent arrival on the scene, and thanks to the lack of truly detailed file cards or a presence in any media, he’s a bit of a blank slate. His original figure, a driver from the Pursuit of Cobra line, immediately became a favorite of mine among the modern driver figures,

Way back when I started this blog, I covered a figure actually code named GI Joe. I’m sure every kid at some point asked the question, “Which one is GI Joe?” It’s a logical  question to ask, since that’s the name on every package. Of course, the generation prior to the Real American Hero era understood that GI Joe was

Alley Viper (2013)

During the 25th anniversary series, there were many figures on fans’ want lists. The Defense of Cobra Island seven pack put a few of most wanted Cobra army builders in our hands. The original Alley Viper was one of them, and most of that mold continues to show up in modern versions of the popular urban assault trooper. Less accessorized

Cyber Ninja (2013)

It’s too bad Hasbro doesn’t feel the need to include file cards with the Retaliation movie figures. An interesting looking new Cobra trooper, the Cyber Ninja I’m sure could have benefited from some sort of backstory. Maybe I’m just being a crotchety old vintage collector, but surely it can’t add too much to the cost, or take away from the
