The Power of Packaging: Micro Force

First off, a bit of thanks is in order for this post. Regular commenter and super Joe-bud Scot AKA Cyko9 sent me this little surprise a few days ago. While I picked up quite a few of the blind bag packs, I never pulled the trigger on the multi-pack carded version. It’s certainly a unique type of packaging. The five figures inside can be rotated inside the blister. Interesting.

The theme carries over the ninja-centric design of the Retaliation line. I know a lot of collectors didn’t care for the second movie’s packaging design, particularly the colors, but I find this one to be more dynamic than the regular figure line, with nice renderings of the toys across the card. The back also does a nice job of cross-selling other figures, although a checklist of all 40+ would have been nice. There is a checklist packed behind the figures, however. It’s also worth pointing out that the toys named on the cardback (and illustrated on the front for that matter) hark back to the classic mythos, rather than the movie.

  • Here’s an example where Hasbro could’ve gone “blind bag” and didn’t. And I guess people still didn’t buy them. They’re fun for what they are, and this package is a nice presentation. I’m glad you liked them!
