Wild Bill (2004)

The Real American Hero era GI Joe characters lend themselves well to the 12 inch format. The distinctive uniforms and bold concepts of both the heroes and villains are a natural for the larger scale. Details that add personality at the smaller size can be expanded upon in new ways. Wild Bill has always been known for his tendency to

Shipwreck (2005)

Okay, I know Shipwreck looks inherently weird here. He’s long-legged and short-torsoed (is that a word?) like many other figures from the early to mid 2000s GI Joe lines, or what we collector geeks call the “new sculpt” era. But look past the proportions, and you might see a Shipwreck concept that was both new and useful. When most children

Flint (2004)

Night Force was quite well represented in the 2000’s era, appearing in a couple of army builder waves as well as a Toys R Us multi-pack. This Flint hails from the latter, and I like his inclusion in the group. He’s a prominent command member of the GI Joe team, and I always find him useful in a leadership role.

Coil Crusher (2004)

I’m not afraid to say that I am a fan of gimmicks. There’s an added element of fun when an action figure can do something more than to be placed into different poses. Frostbite (2005)

Last weekend, I spent some time organizing and sorting my 2002-2006 figures. When I was buying these figures new, I wasn’t bothering to put accessories in little baggies, but rather throwing both figure and gear into plastic tubs. Not a big deal, unless you’ve decided to write a blog and take photos of figures. If you collected the era, you

Tiger Claw (2005)

Just how many apprentices has Snake Eyes had over the years? The guy’s had more students than Prince has had girlfriend/proteges. Seems Snakes has been picking up students throughout his time as a Joe. If he were a shrewd businessman,he could have sold his secluded cabin in the High Sierrras, opened up an Arashikage ninja dojo at a Staten Island

Dreadnok Ripper (2004)

Remember when Ripper traded in his trademark can opener rifle and jaws of life for a missile launcher? The 2000’s series, made a valiant effort to produce 12 inch versions of both classic and new Joes and Cobras. Ripper had been in the 3 & 3/4 GI Joe vs. Cobra series, and though he had changed up his attire, looked
