Rock N Roll (2012 Sideshow Exclusive)

August 1, 2015 Rob B One comment

By YT I will always remember the excitement I had seeing the first pictures of Rock N Roll and Zartan at Sideshow’s SDCC display. I was new to collecting 1/6 figures but even I could see Sideshow was stepping up their game. I still feel those 2 figures were the pinnacle of the Sideshow Joe line. What can I add

Sideshow Snake Eyes V2 Exclusive (2013)

July 25, 2015 Rob B One comment

By YT I am a huge fan of the Sideshow GI Joe line, I own every figure except one and I shouldn’t.  This figure is one from the, I should have passed column.  He has several positive features and a lot of drawbacks.  His gear load-out is impressive, typical for Sideshow.  He has several firearms and edged weapons all well done.  He

Sideshow Storm Shadow (2009)

June 13, 2015 Rob B One comment

By YT Storm Shadow was the fourth figure Sideshow released in their GI Joe line. Like a lot of us, Storm Shadow was a favorite of mine as a kid. Overall he is a very faithful reproduction of the ARAH original. Although they did give him long sleeves, I believe to cover the very unattractive arms of their Prometheus body.

Sideshow Arashikage Temple 1/6 Scale Figure Environment

June 6, 2015 Rob B 3 comments

By YT The Sideshow Arashikage Temple will go down as the largest 1/6 GI Joe figure environment they produced. It is gigantic! The shipping box is similar to a USS Flag box in size. I would rate it as the second most “Joe Centric” item behind the excellent Cobra throne. A lot of their other environments were much more generic.

Lt. Falcon (Sideshow 2012 Comicon Exclusive )

May 16, 2015 Rob B 3 comments

By YT Lt Falcon was always a favorite of mine as a kid, even after his rather annoying appearance in the GI Joe animated movie.  I guess I gravitated towards the more realistic aspects even back then.  I also had a beret obsession, but that is a whole other story.  The Sideshow Falcon was a great figure.  They reused a

Major Bludd (Sideshow Collectibles)

May 14, 2015 Rob B 4 comments

By YT Sideshow caused quite a stir when they previewed their Major Bludd at the 2012 SDCC. I still can recall those stunning pictures of him standing in the case clutching his bloody Joe dog tags. I have to confess the poetry spouting Major was never one of my favorites as a kid, probably due to his characterization in the

Cobra Viper (Sideshow Collectibles)

May 9, 2015 Rob B 2 comments

By YT I had admired the Sideshow line from afar for a while before I picked up my first figure, the Cobra Sniper on clearance. Once I had that figure in hand it was all over for me. The quality and details were amazing! When I saw they were doing a Viper, I was in. This figure did not disappoint,

Rock ‘N’ Roll (Sideshow Collectibles)

December 28, 2012 Rob B 17 comments

Over the years, I’ve gone back and forth over the larger scale GI Joes. I knew little to nothing about them as a kid, only being exposed to a few Adventure Team figures once at a neighbor’s house. It wasn’t until the Hall of Fame series in the 90’s, and the rise of toy collecting as a hobby that I
