Quickstrike (2004)

I feel that I’ve been remiss in my coverage of GI Joe vehicles. After all, they’re as important an aspect of the brand as the figures, especially in the years since Joe’s reintroduction in the 1980s. What kind of all-inclusive GI Joe blogger am I to not have represented more of the great rides of Joe history after over two

Snake Eyes (2013)

Can ’85 Snake Eyes ever be equaled in RAH fans’ minds? I’m not sure, but Hasbro seems willing to keep trying out new versions of our favorite ninja commando. In the 25th anniversary series alone, there were three attempts at a modern version of the classic mold. While the first was a more straight militaristic interpretation of the original, there

Black Dragon (1995)

A blond martial artist on a GI Joe team? Where have I seen that before? He’s got an Asian sounding name as well. I don’t quite get what’s going on there, but a blonde martial artist could be considered Extreme on some level. What’s also Extreme is his weapon. Look at that thing. It’s really kind of a mess. It

Duke (1994 China)

GI Joe: The International Heros. Heros? Were they Greek all of a sudden? Typos aside, it’s a nice figure from the ranks of legends like Chinese Major Bludd and Tiger Force Flint/Falcon. While he doesn’t differ greatly from the regular release, there are a few unique details to this Duke, as well as some funky card art, to provide some interest.

Edwin “Lifeline” Steen (2010)

Until I started taking a deeper look at the Palitoy Action Force figures, it hadn’t occurred to me that this Lifeline was an homage. The Z-Force medic figure was outfitted in a similar fashion, with a white vest and white helmet over green fatigues. The figure’s base hails from one of the great final assortments of the original Real American

Blowtorch (2011)

Among the many cool things the Pursuit of Cobra line accomplished, it improved on a few figures released as part of the 25th anniversary assortments. Blowtorch really isn’t all that new, but he incorporates some small details that make the figure stand out from its previous version. When this figure was announced, I thought it would just be a re-hash of

Rapid-Fire (1993)

1993 was an exciting year for the Hall of Fame GI Joe line. The interest created by the previous year’s releases prompted Hasbro to delve deeper into the Real American Hero cast of characters, releasing 12 inch scale versions of some of the most requested iconic Joes and Cobras. The line expanded into carded mission gear and weapon sets, a

Grunt (1982)

So today is 8/2. Since Star Wars fans have their own unofficial day with May the 4th, fellow Joe fan Dave from Flag Points thought that the 2nd of August could be a similar type of event for Real American Hero GI Joe fans. Well, here’s my contribution to the day, going all the way back to the first Joe

Specialist Trakker (2008)

Mashups are all the rage in the geek world these days. There are no shortage of t-shirts and other fan art that combine two pop culture properties, whether they be references to movies, comic books or even video games. Hasbro was a bit ahead of the curve in 2008 when they managed to mash GI Joe and MASK together. The
