Snow Storm (1994)

How’s this for a late run RAH figure? Snow Storm had three color schemes in two years. Pretty amazing, but not too surprising when you consider just how many of the 1993 Battle Corps figures were repainted in 1994. I suppose the heavy mold reuse that year was part of the writing on the wall near the line’s end. The

Gristle (1993)

1993 saw the continuation of the previous year’s DEF, albeit in a less obvious manner. Each of the second year Joe drug fighters and Cobra criminals were folded into the regular Battle Corps assortment, and given normal accessories in place of the previous Battle Flash weaponry. Gristle comes to us as either a lieutenant or successor to the drug kingpin

1,000th Post!

It’s a milestone! I’m amazed that the blog is up to 1,000 posts. Wow, it seems like only yesterday that I started this crazy mess. Anyway, it kind of snuck up on me. But I am one to celebrate such things, so today I’ve put together a little something different to share. Check out the video…

Wet-Suit (1993)

Wet-Suit has just never looked like a combat diver to me. That’s not really a complaint, because I’m not always hung up on military realism with GI Joe. Ever since I bought Torpedo back in 1983, I’ve been a fan of the diver figures. Though they’re limited in use on land, the appeal of the underwater outfits and accessories, and

Beach-Head (1994)

I’ve been a bad GI Joe blogger, in terms of cataloging all of the various accessories included with the figures I cover. I suppose I could make excuses, and say that I’m not supposed to be an exhaustive guide site, like Yojoe.com or a type of online museum like 3DJoes. Of course, I am neither of those, but as a

Frostbite (1993)

We’re officially into summer here in the US, and it’s been getting really hot around my neck of the woods lately, so why not break out a figure photo that I took in the dead of winter and write about it? It’s kind of like eating an ice cream cone after playing basketball in the driveway all day in 104

Night Creeper Leader (1993)

While the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, Night Creeper Leader is one of the more memorable looking late Real American Hero line Cobras. There’s no mistaking just what part of the venerable vintage small Joe line he hails from. The man apparently likes the color orange. Night Creeper Leader appeared first in the infamous DIC produced animated series.

Shipwreck (1994)

The original Sailor Suit Shipwreck is a very cool and iconic GI Joe figure, but not really representative of a navy fighter that you can use in a ground combat situation. He worked perfectly well in the more adventure settings of the Sunbow cartoon, but could look out of place as a toy fighting alongside the likes of Footloose or

Cross Country (1993)

Let’s get this out of the way first. There’s one element of this figure that I’m sure is going to offend some people. It’s something that I don’t think you’d expect to see in a children’s toy. Well, at least not now. Maybe in the 90s it was still acceptable, but if you tried something like it in modern times,

Flint (1994)

The final assortment of the Real American Hero era included some unsung figures that transcend their 90s origin. That decade at times gets some unfair derision among collectors. While there were a large amount of ridiculous and strange ideas going on, with every sort of sub-team and action feature you could think of, the figure output for those last few
