  • Here’s a pecie of trivia
In the holographic game this guy is playing at the start of the episode, you will notice that the two robots in said game are an off model Shockwave and Optimus prime

  • Now that Gamesman takes the term “man-child” to the fullest. He’s like G.I. Joe’s answer to the Superman villain Toyman.

  • Yeah, that was a weird episode. Even as a kid, I really disliked this episode, even with its high Flint/Lady Jaye quotient. Gamesman was really off-putting and I was so confused as to what he was. Was he just a rich, crazy weirdo? Was he an alien (since his technology was pretty crazily advanced even for Joe)? Why was Flint wearing a sweater vest? How did Joe and Cobra both not know this crazy was out there beforehand and why didn’t they both go after him later? I mean, this guy has weird tech and is dangerous enough to kidnap two of the top Joes and the top two members of Cobra High Command. You can’t tell me they thought he wasn’t a threat after that. Not that I wanted another Gamesman episode as a kid or now, but what happened to him?! Is he still out there playing crazy games? Did they just send Snake-Eyes out to kill him silently?

  • With the Gamesman, I think Sunbow was going for a lighter version of Marvel’s Arcade and his Murderworld. He even has a sidekick in that crazy clown. The ending left me wondering if the Gamesman himself was human as compared to his toys, which is not an issue with Arcade most of the time.

Gamesman aside, I always watch this ep in reruns since it’s got some great moments: Destro’s reaction to CC’s kidnapping, Flint’s apparent demise and his James Bond-ish crack soon after, The Baroness briefly comforting Lady Jaye, the Joes and Cobra’s uneasy truce, and of course, CC’s endless bitching about everything that befalls him right through to the end.

Very offbeat episode, but a nice change of pace.

    “Itssss buterssscotchh”

Dont forget about Baroness’s choice of clothing in this one. It makes me ask WHY?. The plot is clearly for children but was Baroness put in the bikini to attract older viewers?

  • It’s these more strange episodes that I actually remember most from back in the day. Worlds without end being a favorite.

There was another funhouse one, wasn’t there, with Airtight in action, the one that made me hate that Airtights mask was stuck on.

  • @Scott
Yes, that episode your thinking of is called “The funhouse”
