Full Proof (Lanard CORPS!)

Now, before you roll your eyes at the  name, consider the figure before you. As a Lanard CORPS! character, one might expect something along the lines of a GI Joe of the 80s. Speaking of which, although this figure was released in the late 90s, it carries a real 80s vibe in terms of its modeling. The o-ring CORPS! figures in general maintained the sort of smooth sculptural detail that was prevalent among the early Real American Hero GI Joes. Deep folds and intricate textures weren’t the norm.

Like his compatriot Justin Case, I’m not sure who I’d say he most resembles from the Joe team. There are elements of a commando, with a close fitting uniform shirt and loose pants. Then again, there’s a sci-fi edge, with the body armor and futuristic helmet. He’s also sporting a gun than looks a lot like Battle Armor Cobra Commander’s sidearm. Speaking of the Commander, how can you not compare his helmet to old snake face’s original brain bucket?

The figures from this period in Lanard’s output also were often branded with line’s logo and a number. At the same time, the figures were repainted, and Full Proof was available in several permutations, including the Lazer Force and STAR Force lines. If you look hard enough, you might find one of those white or tan variants. This particular color scheme wouldn’t be out of place among the Joe team’s Night Force.
