The Ferret remains one of my favorite small vehicles of the 80s GI Joe line. Once I saw it in the Marvel Comics commercial, and in the comic itself back in 1985, I had to have it. Something about a four-wheeler just brings back 80s memories, especially when a ninja is at the helm. From its portrayal in the various Joe media, to the various reuses of the mold, I’ve been picking up each iteration over the years. I was glad to see a Kre-O version, and even happier to get an even more accurate custom brick Ferret.

Geewunner’s Enemy Assault Quad is a stout little vehicle that reflects its small Joe scale inspiration quite well. From the all-terrain tires to the side missiles and signature main gun, the Assault Quad is ready to take on your minifig Joes. The only thing lacking is the ability for a second figure to ride behind the driver. But that’s not a deal breaker, as the resemblance to the Ferret makes up for a single seating arrangement.

The aspect I’m most enjoying about these builds are the inventive construction of the detail elements. Both the missiles and the main gun are little combinations that really bring to mind their full size counterparts. It’s a lot more fun to build when compared to the more simplistic Hasbro version.

While the official Kre-O version was a noble effort, I prefer the custom. Placed side by side, the Geewunner creation cuts a more impressive and familiar silhouette. I know that Kreon Storm Shadow and the Crimson Twins prefer this ride at JAD HQ.

This vehicle, as well as many other theme variations (including arctic, crimson, biohazard, night ops and more) are available via Geewunner.storenvy.com.
