Create A Cobra (1993)

Hey, it’s another mail-in! This figure, like his GI Joe Steel Brigade counterpart, is an action figure with a personalized background. Again, kids could make up a code name and specialty. Being that he comes to us from that Day-Glowiest of decades, the 90’s,  he has no compunction about going into battle looking like this:

Some Joe collectors like to create elaborate stories around the figures in their collections, creating their own “Joeverse,” a history and context to the battles they fight.  In my Joeverse, the Create A Cobra functions as a distraction to take enemies by surprise and misdirect while the real attack occurs elsewhere. Chinese General and military strategist Sun Tzu, in his Art of War, wrote “He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.” Who would be prepared for a cadre of hot pink soldiers lobbing baby blue grenades?
